Kites
The Kites series refers to the notes that are the primary written method for imprisoned people to “fly” a message from one person to another secretly. It is in this clandestine making of an object for connection, and in underground networks of communication, that the project rests. The work is concerned with how creative practices are used as means of survival, and how spaces of enclosure are transformed into spaces of fugitive praxis through these practices of freedom.
